Description of Activities

Description of ActivitiesThis project will concentrate on replacing small gasoline and diesel-powered equipment (such as lawn maintenance equipment and small utility vehicles used in facility maintenance and grounds maintenance) so that NOx emissions are reduced.

 

 

 

Deliverables & Environmental Results

  • Partner with private sector to test clean off-road equipment in City Parks and Recreation applications
  • Compare effectiveness of various technologies (cost, performance, pollution) and determine best vehicles/equipment for city’s replacement
  • Enlist private sector to assist in purchase of replacement vehicles
  • Quantify NOx and other pollution savings

Project TimelineProject Timeline

  • July – December 2007: Test industry-loaned off-road trial equipment
  • January – March 2008: Calculate emissions reductions from industry-loaned trial equipment
  • June 2008 – June 2010: Purchase and introduce new off-road vehicles into fleet and quantify emissions reductions.
